TransBiodiesel awarded BIRD-F grant PDF Print E-mail
November 24, 2009 - BIRD-F has awarded Israeli start-up TransBiodiesel and a US partner "Purolite" $0.7 Million to commercialize its process for using immobilized lipases for the production of biodiesel from different oils, including plant oils, animal fats and recycled greases.

Purolite is a US company engaged in the development, manufacture, service and support of resins for ion-exchange, adsorbents, catalysts, and special applications.

The BIRD Foundation works to encourage cooperation between Israeli and American companies in the various areas of technology, and provides free assistance in locating strategic partners from both countries for developing joint products.

 
TransBiodiesel starts pilot plant at Zohar Dalia PDF Print E-mail

November 15, 2009 - A first industrial implementation of TransBiodiesel's innovative technology has started at Zohar Dalia, an Israeli producer of detergents.

Zohar Dalia will be the first company to use a fully biologic process to produce biodiesel. Zohar will use the high quality glycerol, a by-product of TransBiodiesel's technology, as a component in its liquid soaps.
